The Barrel & Bloom Festival 2025

Barrel & Bloom is taking a break this year

This event is taking a break this year to make way for The Journey of the Somerset Dragon. You can see the dragon in person and be in with a chance to give him his name. Join us across the county in 2026 as we come together to celebrate Somerset Day.

A Weekend of Somerset Magic

Rich’s Cider Farm hosted the debut of the Barrel & Bloom Festival over the Somerset Day weekend 2025, and what a debut it was!

With two days of live music, family fun, incredible food, and (of course) top-notch Somerset cider, the sold-out festival brought together over a thousand people for a joyful celebration of everything that makes this county so special.

Saturday: Live at the Farm

Saturday’s “Live at the Farm” event set the tone with golden-hour skies, a buzzing crowd, and a Somerset cider in almost every hand. Weston-super-Mare’s Harrisen Larner-Main opened the evening with soulful vocals and a confident stage presence, with his new release RUNAWAY standing out as a real highlight.

Enjoy exclusive benefits, insider updates and unique opportunities that celebrate and support the local community, all while contributing to the ongoing celebration of Somerset's rich heritage and vibrant culture.

Sunday: A Family Day to Remember

Sunday’s “Big Day Out” delivered a full day of hands-on fun for families. Kids made a beeline for The Bloom Patch, where they got stuck into water play, seed planting, flower crown making and DIY potions.

Surprise visits from A Theme Come True’s Elsa, Rapunzel and Spiderman added some extra magic while Krazy Kev & Dinky Dino kept the laughs coming with a fast-paced, family-friendly show that had both kids and grown-ups in stitches.

Throughout the day, Billy Driscoll’s acoustic sets were the perfect soundtrack, his powerful voice serenading families as they explored, played, and relaxed in the Somerset sunshine.

Over in the orchard, children had a go at traditional apple pressing with George Scott, Rich’s third-generation Master Cider Maker. Nearby, nature crafts with The Woodland Play Centre sparked creativity, while older kids tested their aim with Adventure Bound’s archery and axe throwing.

Cider, Food & Local Makers

As you’d expect at Rich’s Cider Farm, the drinks were a highlight in their own right.

Festivalgoers enjoyed a wide range of Rich’s ciders, including the beloved Golden Harvest, Orchard Sparkling, Vintage, and low-alcohol options. Freshly pressed apple juice was also available for younger guests and those taking it easy.

Rich’s famous on-site carvery served roast dinners in giant Yorkshire puddings, while the picnic area, kindly sponsored by Western Fuel, offered cream teas and light bites. Visitors relaxed on hay bales, soaking up the afternoon sun.

Local makers added to the atmosphere with stalls full of handmade homeware, candles, glassware, and unique fashion pieces, bringing a real sense of Somerset creativity to the day.

Powered by the Community

What made Barrel & Bloom truly shine was its grassroots spirit. The event was a collaborative effort between Passion for Somerset CIC and Rich’s Cider, with vital support from local businesses and volunteers. A special thank-you goes to Andy Bennet, The Vagabonds Carnival Club and Southwest Stages alongside all the suppliers who made it happen behind the scenes.

Looking Ahead to 2026

The Barrel & Bloom website will be on pause while plans for 2026 take shape, but trust us, it’s already brewing behind the scenes! With even more music, family fun, and local flavour in the works, the festival is set to return again.

If you’re a local business, performer, maker or community group who wants to get involved, we’d love to hear from you.
