Join us in the Italian Gardens as part of the much-loved Eat Festival, where great local food meets Somerset storytelling. At 12 noon, gather for a live interactive reading of The Tail of The Somerset Dragon, written, illustrated and printed in Somerset, followed by the Dragon’s special reveal from our touring stage lorry.

This is more than a festival appearance. The Dragon is travelling across the county in the lead up to Somerset Day 2026, visiting towns, schools and communities and inviting families to be part of the story. At Weston, you can see the Dragon up close and submit your name suggestion as he continues his journey.

Expect storytelling, photo moments and plenty of Somerset spirit in the heart of Weston-super-Mare.
